This latest massacre appears to be the last straw for many in the West, with the U.S. looking to increase its efforts to convince Russia to support a transition of power away from Assad — one that would keep much of the current power structure intact but take it away from Assad. Russia and China have notably held out on denouncing Syria, but the latest incident may making ignoring the current crisis impossible. (via shortformblog)
